Job Summary
Weigh vehicles full and empty to record purchases, inspect loads by ascending and descending staircases, and determine metal grades for inventory tracking. Handle paperwork for delivery transactions and government documentation while communicating with dispatch, drivers, and customers regarding schedules, volumes, and objectionable materials. Collaborate with yard staff to ensure swift operations and organize materials for effective space use. Process end-of-day totals, maintain a clean and orderly work area, and dispose of waste appropriately. Adhere to strict safety dress codes and housekeeping protocols. Bi-lingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a medical physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check and credit check
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
- Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
- Willingness to learn how to: sort metal, identify colors, shapes, and weights; properly maintain equipment; properly utilize PPE
