Job Summary
Designs and implements activity programs for high school/middle school levels, supervising students, developing practice regimes and competition plans, assessing student performance, and coordinating events. Responsibilities include overseeing safety and injury prevention, guiding other sponsors, managing program records and budgets, and facilitating communications with parents, school staff, and community organizations. Requires strong leadership, organization, and ability to manage travel to off-campus events, with duties spanning planning, instruction, supervision, and program evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- SKILLS: adapting to changing work priorities; administering first aid; applying pertinent laws, codes, policies, and/or regulations; organizing and communicating information and concepts
- KNOWLEDGE: algebra and/or geometry; review and interpret highly technical information; write technical materials; speak persuasively to implement desired actions; safety practices and procedures; equipment used in activity/program; injury prevention and appropriate treatment protocols; participant eligibility, attendance and discipline guidelines
- ABILITY: schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; use basic, job-related equipment; flexibility to independently work with others; travel to off-campus athletic events and competitions; work extended hours including evenings/weekends; communicate with people of varied educational and cultural backgrounds; provide leadership and mentoring; maintain confidentiality; enforce sportsmanlike behavior
