Job Summary
Senior-level attorney with 7+ years in defense litigation sought as General Partner to lead and grow civil defense practice in NYC; responsibilities include managing a diverse caseload from inception through resolution, overseeing case strategy, drafting pleadings, depositions, discovery, arbitrations and trials, and participating in arbitrations and trials; collaborate with partners, associates, and staff, mentor junior attorneys, manage billing and budgets, and foster client relationships; requires J.D. from an accredited law school, active NY bar, strong research and writing skills, and experience in premises, general, product liability, personal injury, motor vehicle, property damage, construction and labor law, and insurance defense; travel as needed and ability to work a hybrid schedule from the New York office.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of defense litigation experience
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- New York bar license, active and in good standing
- Experience drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, answering written discovery, taking/defending depositions and handling oral arguments
- Experience in premises liability, general liability, product liability, personal injury, motor vehicle, property damage, construction and labor law, and insurance defense
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven track record of success in courtroom appearances, depositions, and settlement negotiations
