Job Summary
Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) and determines product acceptability to the authorized limits of the NDT level obtained in accordance with prescribed methods and procedures. Records and organizes test results, entering them into applicable documents. Maintains radiation safety compliance and protective measures for self and others during testing. Maintains and calibrates inspection equipment; controls inventory. Coordinates NDT workload by priorities, assists other technicians, and provides technical guidance. Conducts automated ultrasonic C-scan inspections of composite parts. Must be able to work any shift. Requires formal NDT training records and ability to obtain NAS 410 NDT certification within 1 year; blueprint reading, basic shop math, and English language proficiency are required. Proficiency with current computer-based software (MS Office).
Required Qualifications
- formal NDT training certifications
- signed/supervised OJT log or Level 3 attestation
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year NDT related experience
- ability to obtain NAS 410 NDT method certification within 1 year
- ASQ certificate preferred
- ability to read blueprints
- basic math
- proficiency with MS Office
