Job Summary
The Non-Delegated/Broker Specialist processes mortgage loan files in a broker/non-delegated setting, ensuring all documents meet investor guidelines and are complete before submission. Responsibilities include organizing loan files, ordering third-party services (title, appraisal, flood certification, credit reports, verifications of employment and deposit), preparing and submitting packages to investors, monitoring the pipeline, maintaining audit-ready loan notes in LOS/investor portals, and coordinating with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and lenders. Requires deep knowledge of investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA), regulatory compliance (TRID, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA), and proficiency with Encompass and lender portals. Strong attention to detail, communication, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred familiarity with DU/LPA and agency seller/servicer guides; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of mortgage processing experience
- non-delegated, broker, or correspondent lending experience
- knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, USDA loan programs and investor guidelines
- knowledge of TRID, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA
- proficiency with Encompass
- experience with lender portals in broker environments
- attention to detail and organizational skills
- ability to manage multiple files
- strong written and verbal communication
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
