Job Summary
Provides safe, reliable transportation for adults with disabilities to/from designated sites, operating non-commercial paratransit vans with up to 10,000 lbs gross weight. Responsibilities include pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting mileage and safety records, maintaining passenger safety and comfort, and reporting incidents. Requires a valid Class C license, CHP certification within 4 months, completion of behind-the-wheel training, and CPR/First Aid certification; ability to pass background/fingerprint checks; 4–month training window; Monday–Friday schedule with potential after-hours events; benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401k, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain CHP VDDP certification within 4 months of employment
- Ability to successfully complete behind-the-wheel training and skills assessment within 4 months of employment
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certification (can be obtained through Adult Day Service post hire)
- Experience operating multi-passenger vehicles up to 10,000 lbs is preferred
