Job Summary
Lead Classroom Teacher at AZACS Tucson Campus implementing AZACS adopted curriculum and supporting students on the autism spectrum. Serve as the lead teacher in a classroom with a team, ensuring instructional strategies are followed, creating a safe learning environment, planning weekly lessons aligned to state standards, providing daily feedback to staff, conducting regular observations and coaching, maintaining data and reporting, communicating with parents, modifying materials to meet IEP requirements, and contributing to IEPs. Requires a bachelor's degree, ABA training, experience with students with moderate to severe disabilities, enrollment in AZACS teaching certification post-degree, valid fingerprint clearance, and commitment to consistent attendance. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Enrollment in AZACS Teaching Certification program or college certification program required after obtaining a bachelor's degree
- Experience with students with moderate to severe disabilities in a classroom
- Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Mastery and enthusiasm for ABA practices in autism education
- Track record of success in behavior management with students with autism or related disorders
- Ability to communicate with parents, co-workers, and professional contacts
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks
- Consistent attendance
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience in structured teaching, center-based model preferred
- Able to motivate behavioral staff in classroom
- Able to create a safe and effective learning environment
- Participation in IEPs as appropriate
- Duties include leading classroom and coordinating staff
- Weekly lesson planning aligned to state standards
- Data reporting with high fidelity and data analysis bi-weekly
