Job Summary
Yard Jockey role at US Foods in South Carolina. Responsibilities include communicating with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments, moving trailers between buildings as directed, loading/unloading or merging loads between environments, staging shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers, setting up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets, placing backhauls in the correct door to be unloaded by the warehouse, ensuring equipment is paired and ready for the next day, and working with mechanics nightly. Requires attending required company meetings. Must be able to lift 20 to 80+ lbs, have a valid driver’s license, pass a DOT physical, be at least 21, and be able to read and communicate in English. Compensation base rate is $27.15 per hour with potential overtime; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and other programs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence
- Minimum of six months non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
- Must be able to pass DOT physical
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift
