Job Summary
Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities while ensuring student safety during boarding, transit, and exiting. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues. Manage student behavior and maintain a positive environment in the vehicle. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff. This safety-sensitive position requires a valid IL driver's license, clean driving record, and three years of driving experience. Regular split shift schedules include summers and holidays off.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Valid IL driver's license
- Clean driving record
- 3+years of driving experience
- Ability to pass background check and drug test
- Physical ability to assist students and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- IL First Division School Bus Driver Permit (Non‐CDL)
- Willing to obtain the First Division School Bus Driver Permit (Non-CDL) - state requirements, with training provided
