Job Summary
Conduct daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading product at each designated location. Operate successfully in a cross dock model by picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries and returning empty trucks to the assigned lot. Verify deliveries with customers, obtain proper signatures, and manage invoice discrepancies or shortages by contacting management. Handle customer complaints professionally while performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety rules. Lift and move product weighing up to 100 pounds, frequently reaching and bending to stack pallets and navigate ramps or stairs in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED or equivalent
- One year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to read and understand English
- Must be able to lift 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to reach up to 72"
- Must be able to bend and twist
- Must be able to operate a vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
- Must be able to meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
- Must be able to meet or exceed established cases per error goals
- Must demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
- Must be able to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision
- Must have a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures
- Must be able to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations
- Must have a proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic
