Non CDL Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary
Operate a local delivery truck on daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading product at each designated location. Pick up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at the assigned dock and return empty trucks to the lot. Verify deliveries with customers to obtain signatures, handle customer complaints professionally, and communicate invoice discrepancies or shortages to management. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and Sysco policies. Frequently lift, push, or move product weighing up to 100 pounds, reach up to 72 inches to stack pallets, and work in all weather conditions. Assist occasionally with loading, palletizing, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to climb on and off the truck box, work in confined spaces, and effectively communicate with the general public.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED or equivalent
- One-year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- Valid Commercial Driver's License preferred
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
- Be 21 years or older
- No drug or alcohol violations within the past 3 years
- No open violations listed in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License preferred
- Experience in handling money preferred
