Job Summary
Conduct daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading product at each stop in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. Operate successfully in a cross-dock model, picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries and returning empty trucks to the assigned lot. Frequently lift, push, or move product weighing 1-100 pounds, reach up to 72 inches to stack pallets, and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations. Verify deliveries with customers, obtain signatures, and handle complaints or invoice discrepancies professionally. This role requires a valid CDL or one year of route delivery experience, with candidates aged 21 or older. Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, climb on/off the truck box, and work in confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- Be 21 years or older
- No drug or alcohol violations within the past 3 years
- No open violations listed in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- High School or GED or equivalent
- One-year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- Must be able to read and understand English
- Operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
- Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
- Meet or exceed established cases per error goals
- Demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
- Effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision
- Develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures
- Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations
- Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs
- Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License preferred
- Experience in handling money preferred
