Non-CDL Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary
Operate a local delivery truck on daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading product at designated customer storage areas. Transport loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at the assigned dock and return empty trucks to the lot. Verify deliveries with customers, obtain signatures, and handle invoice discrepancies or short shipments by contacting management. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations and Sysco policies. Lift, push, or move product weighing up to 75 pounds, frequently reach up to 72 inches, and bend while stacking and unstacking pallets. Assist occasionally with loading, palletizing, and other duties as assigned. Must be 21 or older with one year of route delivery experience and a valid Commercial Driver's License preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Be 21 years or older
- No drug or alcohol violations within the past 3 years
- No open violations listed in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- High School or GED or equivalent
- One-year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- Must be able to read and understand English
- Operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
- Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
- Meet or exceed established cases per error goals
- Demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
- Effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision
- Develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures
- Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations
- Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs
- Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License preferred
- Experience in handling money preferred
