Job Summary
Non-CDL Driver I is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials to various job sites and other locations. This entry-level driving role focuses on delivering raw materials and smaller orders, may require some state-specific certification, and includes duties such as checking orders for accuracy, organizing and securing loads, obtaining supervisor approval for loads, delivering and unloading materials to customer satisfaction, completing daily equipment inspections, and maintaining paperwork (delivery tickets, credit slips). The role emphasizes customer service, safety, adherence to company policies, and collaboration with supervisors and co-workers. Skills highlighted include basic math, effective communication, safe lifting techniques, and familiarity with smartphones/GPS and related applications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years of experience driving trucks required
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State required
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications)
- Lumber dumping experience preferred (optional per posting)
