Job Summary
Drive and operate a non-CDL trash truck on assigned residential routes to collect and dispose of waste materials safely and on time. Assist with loading, transporting, and unloading waste from residential areas while following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, including checking fluid levels, brakes, and tires, and maintain accurate records of waste collected, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents. Interact courteously with residents to address questions or concerns regarding waste collection services. This role supports our commitment to providing exceptional, sustainable waste management services to the Canon City community.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Must have a valid, state-issued driver's license (non-commercial)
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy loads (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and residents
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned routes within specified timelines
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience driving a truck or large vehicle
