NOHS Asst Volleyball Coach (Fall 2026)

Job Summary
Assists the head coach and/or athletic director in middle/high school athletics as an Asst Volleyball Coach for Fall 2026. Supports coaching duties including planning and organizing practices, teaching fundamental volleyball skills, promoting school athletics in the community, ensuring student eligibility and safety, and serving as a positive role model for student athletes under the supervision of the Head Coach/Principal/Athletic Director. Requires high school diploma or GED, 64 college credit hours (or KHSAA professional development), CPR/first aid, and compliance with criminal records checks and health/safety guidelines. Stipend-based one-year assignment with potential continuation via principal recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, or G.E.D. certificate.
- 64 semester hours (minimum) of college credit; or completion of approved KHSAA professional development training
- 21 Years of Age
- Criminal records check as specified by Kentucky State Law
- First aid course and CPR certification, as well as any other applicable training requirements as specified by KHSAA Bylaw 27
- Knowledge of fundamentals of various sports
- Understanding of health and safety regulations
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
- Assist in promoting sports in the school and community
- Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program
- Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices
- Assist in teaching fundamentals, team plan, team strategy and rules and regulations
- Assist in checking eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent
- Provide proper role model, emotional support, patience, and a friendly attitude
- Conduct learning experiences under the direction of the coaches
- Assist in equipment purchases as appropriate for health, safety and welfare of student athletes
- Demonstrates loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of Oldham County Schools
