Job Summary
Conduct complex monitoring and develop multifaceted treatment plans for adults and gerontology patients with severe or critical conditions. Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, acting under the authority and supervision of the attending physician. Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, review diagnostic tests, and formulate patient treatment plans to prevent future complications. Collaborate in care development, establish appropriate levels of care, and educate patients and families on resources and referrals. The role includes administrative, teaching, and research components within OakBend Medical Group's Hospitalist Program.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas
- At least 2 years clinical experience preferably in a hospitalist program
- Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
- Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or National Certification Center in area of specialty or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners or the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
