Job Summary
The NOC Tier 3 Network Engineer position involves ensuring the technical success of network services, developing and socializing strategies for network operations, providing technical leadership during major incidents, and maintaining industry best practices in network operations. The role requires expertise in Cisco routing and switching, technical leadership skills, and strong experience with networking protocols and technologies. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of technology field experience, with specific expertise in enterprise network support and operational roles.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Business or equivalent experience related field
- 7+ years of experience in technology related fields
- 7+ years of supporting enterprise level, mission critical systems
- 3+ years of hands on admin and change experience with firewall technologies
- Requires at least 1 active technical certification from a major technology supplier
- 5+ years’ progressive data communications experience in WAN/MAN/LAN/Wi-Fi/Data Center
- 3+ years’ experience in the utilization of data communications test equipment and network management systems
- Knowledge of and experience with major routing protocols
- Working knowledge of DNS/DHCP, load-balancers, Wan Accelerators, and other network technologies
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 professional level certification from a major technology supplier (CCNP, JNCIP, etc.)
- Solid understanding of all types of LAN environments including cabling and equipment hardware to support Ethernet
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts, Incident, Problem, and Change Management
