Job Summary
Supervise direct nursing staff on all units to ensure provision and delivery of quality and customer service to residents. Monitor staffing levels, schedule shifts, and assist in finding coverage as needed while functioning as a staff nurse when required. Complete clinical rounds to verify task completion and department cleanliness, and monitor the accuracy of resident records. Assist clinical leadership in planning, organizing, and directing nursing department staff in accordance with federal, state, local, and organizational policies. Communicate issues and concerns with clinical leadership and ensure the department adheres to all regulations while safeguarding resident confidentiality. Prepare for new resident admissions, including room preparation and communication with families. Requires a current RN or LPN license, three years of clinical experience, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- A nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Current unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state
- 3+ years of clinical nursing experience
- Experience in geriatrics
- Ability to demonstrate compassion when working with residents
- The ability to anticipate needs of residents/clients and co-workers in a pro-active fashion seeking to meet those needs even before a formal request is made
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
