Job Summary
NOC Analyst 2 serves as the primary escalation point for Tier 1 events, managing and resolving complex incidents across network, server, security, and cloud technologies. Responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting, coordinating incident response and technical bridge calls, performing initial root cause analysis on recurring incidents, using diagnostic tools such as Wireshark and SNMP managers, reviewing upcoming infrastructure changes for impact, and mentoring NOC Analyst 1 staff. Requires strong networking knowledge (routing with OSPF/BGP, switching, firewall concepts, VPN), security acumen, basic scripting for automation, ITIL incident/problem/change management familiarity, and experience with network performance and application performance monitoring tools. Must hold a U.S. government Public Trust clearance eligibility, at least 3 years in a NOC or similar role, an associate degree (or equivalent), and at least one major networking certification (CCNA/JNCIA/FCP); ITIL v4 Foundation is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Must be eligible for and able to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a NOC or high-level technical support role (Tier 2 or above).
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required (or equivalent work experience). Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certifications (Required): Must possess at least one major networking certification (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA, or Fortinet Certified Professional).
- Certifications (Desired): ITIL v4 Foundation certification is highly desirable.
