Job Summary
Assist residents with medications as prescribed, receive, organize, and store meds, and document all medication management functions per regulation. Monitor residents for changes in condition, check vitals, track weight, and observe skin health while reviewing daily care plans. Support admissions, transfers, and discharges; assist with daily hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and basic room care. Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and resident rooms, ensure infection control, and report accidents, incidents, or safety violations to the supervisor. Communicate resident changes and concerns to the Health Services Director and complete required orientation and training.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma/GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Completion of the Qualified Medication Aide program with a current license based on state requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
- Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services
- Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately
- Keeps all information confidential
- Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows work schedule
- Displays cleanliness, good grooming, personal appearance and follows dress requirements consistently
- Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks
- Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action
- Displays ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others
- Interacts in professional manner with Residents, public and co-workers
- Adequate and clear English speaking and writing ability
- Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly
- Is free of non-treated communicable disease
- Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations
- Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures
- Is neat, accurate, dependable and keeps work/space clean
- Ability/willingness to work longer than eight (8) hour shift
- Ability/willingness to work holidays or overtime
- Ability/willingness to work seven (7) day schedule
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to lift 35 pounds regularly
- Must be able to squat, reach, stretch without distress
- Must be able to tolerate extended periods walking, standing
- Twelve (12) plus years of education
- Attendance at mandatory in-service training
- Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
- Meet in-service training hours required for job classification and position
- 18 – 24 months experience in a similar position
- CPR/First Aid certified
