Job Summary
NOC Engineer (2nd shift) sought to monitor, troubleshoot, and document outages and incidents for ISP-grade broadband services (FTTH and Ethernet/MPLS). Responsibilities include diagnosing routing, switching, broadband, and commercial circuit issues; provisioning/deprovisioning network elements; coordinating maintenance with vendors and internal teams; developing repeatable troubleshooting procedures; participating in change management and incident response; and providing clear technical guidance with a customer-focused mindset. Key skills include BGP, MPLS, IPv6, VPNs, OSPF-TE, ISIS-SR; service provider switching (QinQ, L2VPN/EVC); Cisco IOS/IOS-XR or equivalent platforms; fiber PON technologies; TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP; WiFi/mesh troubleshooting; Windows/Linux CLI; and relevant certifications such as CCNP-SP, JNCIS-SP, MEF, and Nokia/NRS familiarity. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a service provider NOC in a Tier 2 or higher role
- Experience supporting Fiber PON, DSL, or Cable broadband networks
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting service provider routing and switching technologies
- Strong understanding of broadband technologies, MPLS virtual circuits, and residential fiber services
- Cisco IOS/IOS-XR or equivalent service provider platforms
- Fiber OLT/ONT/ONU PON technologies
- Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and broadband troubleshooting
