Job Summary
Night Yard Jockey based in Austin, responsible for moving and parking trucks, dock-side loading, yard checks, and nightly maintenance tasks. Requires operating box trucks (16–26 ft), ensuring DOT/OSHA compliance, documenting activities and gas usage, coordinating with dispatch, andReporting repairs to work orders. Role involves loading trucks, maintaining accurate mileage and hour reports, using pallet jacks and forklifts, and working overnight on a full-time schedule (10 p.m.–5 a.m.) with Saturdays off. Strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and effective communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must be 21+, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and capable of working weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- 1 year of box truck driving experience (16 to 26 foot)
- 21+ years old
- Available to work weekends
- Bilingual preferred in English and Spanish
- Ability to work independently
- Understanding of administrative and technical practices for vehicle maintenance
- Ability to review truck documents, registration, DOT, insurance, and accident procedures
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly during shift
- Experience with pallet jacks and forklifts
- Ability to learn shipping and receiving procedures and inventory controls
- Night shift experience preferred
- Full-time availability
- Refrigeration environment handling (34°F-70°F)
