Job Summary
Confer with management and team members to understand work situations, policy changes, and new technologies requiring training. Coordinate training schedules with hiring and demand across all shifts, then conduct group and one-on-one sessions covering unloading, preloading, and loading procedures. Evaluate trainees to measure progress, complete training reports, and assist with specific forklift operation tasks. Create and update training manuals and agendas while developing materials through management collaboration. Monitor program effectiveness and make suggestions for improving work procedures. Perform all essential duties of the Material Handler position, including maintaining safety standards and adhering to the Mon-Friday 6pm-4:30am schedule. Requires a High School diploma or GED, five years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and forklift certification.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Driver's License
- Forklift Certification
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Five (5) years related experience
- Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time
- Ability to move across all shifts as needed
- Ability and willingness to work the voluntary/mandatory overtime that is required during all busy seasons
- Ability to effectively communicate (in writing and verbally) in a courteous and professional manner with others
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of Team Members or customers of the Company
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management
- Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds the established guidelines
- Ability to work independently without interruptions
- Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines
- Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure customer is receiving correct product
- Ability to inspect condition of product received and product going out to ensure quality
- Ability to complete evaluations on progress of trainees
- Ability to follow a systematic method of performing a task
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to adapt to change in the workplace
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect Team Member safety
