Job Summary
Provide support that positively impacts residents' health and wellbeing, implementing co-produced support plans covering tenancy support, health needs, personal development, and emotional inclusion. Ensure safe entry and exit of residents and visitors while operating CCTV equipment, and resolve disputes such as neighbour complaints in line with organisational policies. Participate in daily hand-overs with daytime staff and operate in line with Health and Safety procedures. Night-time working is a requirement of this role, alongside PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration. Based at Jarnac Court, an emergency accommodation service in Dalkeith, the team works to harm reduction principles and trauma-informed practice for young people and adults with complex needs.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a support worker in a housing support service/care at home service, or a willingness to work towards and to successfully complete qualification within the SSSC specified timeframe
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Passion for helping people live independently
- Experience or interest in housing, social care, or community support
- Commitment to the values and mission of Care Support Scotland, and to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
- Night-time working
- PVG scheme membership & SSSC registration
- Evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK
Desired Qualifications
- A practice qualification (at least SCQF level 7 or above) recognised by the SSSC, in the category of support workers in a Housing Support Service / Care at Home service, or willingness to work towards this
- Previous demonstrable experience working within an adult social care setting
- Understanding of the Care Inspectorate and its purpose
- Understanding of the SSSC and its purpose
- A Positive Behaviour Support, or Trauma Informed Practice qualification or accreditation
