Job Summary
Provide support that positively impacts the person we support's health and wellbeing, including delivering tenancy support, health needs, and emotional care. Contribute to co-producing and implementing support plans while resolving disputes such as neighbour complaints. Ensure safe entry and exit of residents and visitors, operating CCTV equipment where required. Participate in daily hand-overs with daytime staff and operate in line with Health and Safety policies. This night-time role requires SSSC registration and PVG scheme membership, with on-call rotation. Eastfield is a high support needs service in Midlothian focusing on housing and tenancy support for individuals with complex needs.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a support worker in a housing support service/care at home service, or a willingness to work towards and to successfully complete qualification within the SSSC specified timeframe.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Passion for helping people live independently
- Experience or interest in housing, social care, or community support
- Commitment to the values and mission of Care Support Scotland, and to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
- Night-time working
- PVG scheme membership & SSSC registration
- Evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK
Desired Qualifications
- A practice qualification (at least SCQF level 7 or above) recognised by the SSSC, in the category of support workers in a Housing Support Service / Care at Home service, or willingness to work towards this.
- Previous demonstrable experience working within an adult social care setting
- Understanding of the Care Inspectorate and its purpose
- Understanding of the SSSC and its purpose
- A Positive Behaviour Support, or Trauma Informed Practice qualification or accreditation.
