Job Summary
Conduct advanced maintenance operations during night shifts in the Dallas & Fort Worth area, focusing primarily on roadway sweeping and debris removal. Perform snow and ice control tasks and incident response when special events require them. Maintain proper safety equipment, follow all federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to Jorgensen Company policies. Operate hand tools, wheel loaders, skid steers, and powered sweeping equipment while conducting routine maintenance and preventative checks. Work Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, with rotating schedules and day/weekend availability as needed. Possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to work safely under varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work at varied heights
- Exposure to using shovels, brooms, & various small hand tools
- MOT (Traffic Control) certifications/courses
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Ability to operate equipment such as wheel loaders, skid steers, powered sweeping equipment (mechanical or vacuum)
- Clean driving record is essential
- Must pass criminal background check
- High School Diploma/GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate hand/power tools
- Ability to conduct routine maintenance/preventative maintenance on equipment (Greasing, equipment cleaning, etc)
- Ability to follow directions from appointed supervisors
- Schedule flexibility is a must
- Must be able to work a rotating schedule and weather events such as snow, ice, and floods
- Must be available for weekend shifts
Desired Qualifications
- CDL license a plus
- Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
