Job Summary
Personal Care Aide (PCA) at Holy Family Villa provides routine assistance with activities of daily living for residents, including bathing, grooming, toileting, repositioning, and monitoring intake and vital signs. The role requires following federal/state regulations, HIPAA, and church policies; maintaining a neat appearance; reporting abnormalities to the Nursing Supervisor; assisting with meals; transporting residents as needed; completing daily charting; and participating in mandatory trainings (Protecting God’s Children, Mandated Reporter). Requires high school diploma or GED or active registry, 18+ years old, CPR/First Aid and related certifications within 6 months, background checks, and ability to work every other weekend/holiday. Hourly wages range from $14.50–$18.00, with part-time night shift from 11 PM to 7 AM (16 hours/week).
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma, a GED certificate, or active registry status on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Required to maintain current CPR and First Aid, Diabetes Education/Insulin Injection, Medication Administration Certification must be obtained within 6 months of start date
- Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, Drug Screening, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014 (No less than 1 year old)
- Attendance at online Protecting God's Children class and Mandated Reporter Training
- Must possess a sincere desire to work with the elderly
- Must possess the ability to follow oral and written instructions and read, write and speak the English language
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, physicians, visitors, etc.
- Must be able to work every other weekend and every other holiday to include on a rotating basis Christmas
