Job Summary
Provide direct patient care and assist with housekeeping duties as assigned, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Identify safety hazards, special resident problems, and changes in resident condition, then report immediately to the Housing Manager or Nurse-on-call. Document incidents, unusual problems, and each shift of duty and treatment provided per established procedures. Participate in educational programs, meetings, and orientation as required while maintaining strict adherence to Markesan Resident Home's policies and infection control practices. Greets residents by name, renders immediate assistance, and maintains a clean, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Must be able to communicate the English Language at a 10th grade level
- Must show evidence of good physical and mental health
- Must be able to deal with the residents and public tactfully
- Must possess the personal qualities that make it possible to maintain good interpersonal relationships
- Must enjoy working with the elderly
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc., throughout the workday
- Is willing to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
- May be required to work on weekends and holidays
- May be required to work on shifts other than the one hired
- Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours
- Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
