Job Summary
Night Shift Maintenance Technician performs inspections and extensive preventative maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems. Responsibilities include diagnostic testing, routine repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustments of equipment/facilities, component replacement, welding, and fabrication as needed. Reads pressure gauges and displays/readouts, follows checklists, completes daily work orders, and maintains documentation. Requires OSHA/HAZMAT awareness, ability to travel as needed, long hours and weekend work, valid driver’s license, and the ability to mentor lower-level staff. Education/experience requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent with technical certifications in welding, pipefitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and five+ years of mechanical maintenance experience or an associate degree in mechanical engineering. The role involves interaction with vendors and management, working in a manufacturing plant environment, and adherence to safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Technical certifications in welding, pipefitting, general motor repair, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred
- Minimum five years mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent associate degree in mechanical engineering
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel in relation with the work and/or continued education
- Ability to work long hours and weekends
- OSHA and HAZMAT regulations knowledge (certification preferred)
- Strong mechanical and electrical technical aptitude
- Experience reading schematics and blueprints
- Ability to operate welding equipment and cutting torches
- Ability to read and interpret plans and sketches
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Experience in a manufacturing plant environment
- First Aid knowledge
