Night Shift LNA for Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary

Conduct night shift nursing care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit, including vital signs, mobility assistance, hygiene, and wound care. Monitor patients continuously, answer call lights, and perform bedside hand-off reports. Collect samples, assist with procedures like bladder scans and EKGs, and provide hourly rounding using AIDET. Document all interactions and care in the Electronic Health Record while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act. Maintain current licensure and complete assigned annual competencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Hampshire LNA license
  • BLS/CPR AED Certification
  • Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation if disabled
  • Must maintain current license and certifications required at all times
  • Must avoid use of unauthorized overtime
  • Must manage ETO (Earned Time Off) per policy
  • Must complete all assigned annual competencies by due dates
  • Must maintain adequate patient care hours for licensure
  • Must be able to perform in the Hospital Unit Coordinator role as necessary to meet the needs of the unit
  • Must demonstrate willingness to rotate among various shifts or departments to adjust staffing to meet patient care needs
  • Must utilize AIDET when interacting with patients
  • Must assist with providing hourly rounding to all patients
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication technique
  • Must provide a secure and safe environment for behavioral health patients after completing appropriate competencies for one to one, constant observation, and continuous Visual remote monitoring
  • Must perform continuous visual monitoring of patients, initiated by the primary RN, upon completion of assigned competencies related to equipment and role responsibilities
  • Must understand and demonstrate initiatives for improved response times to our patient's needs such as NO PASS ZONE
  • Must demonstrate understanding of the fall prevention measures for all patients assessed by the RN as high fall risk
  • Must communicate with the RN and provide report to on coming LNA any concerns
  • Must utilize equipment/safety protocols and policies in providing care and transport to patients
  • Must demonstrate willingness to rotate among various shifts or departments to adjust staffing to meet patient care needs
  • Must adhere to the Nurse Practice Act of NH
  • Must practice according to the ANA guidelines of care as adopted by the Nursing Division
  • Must support and promote the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry

Desired Qualifications

  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation
  • High School Graduate or GED preferred
