Job Summary
Provide direct patient care and nursing assessments for inmates at the Houston County Jail. Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor patient conditions, and report changes to providers. Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations and assist with chronic care management. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care. This full-time night shift role (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) includes a rotating schedule with every other weekend off. Southern Health Partners offers training and support for both experienced correctional nurses and those new to the specialty.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Night shift availability (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Rotating schedule including every other weekend
- Correctional healthcare experience (optional but noted as a specialty)
- Ability to provide direct patient care
- Ability to perform nursing assessments
- Ability to administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Ability to monitor patient conditions
- Ability to respond to urgent and emergent medical situations
