Job Summary
Perform intermediate-to-advanced repairs and preventative maintenance on Diesel and CNG heavy-duty vehicles under shop leadership guidance. Conduct electronic diagnostics, system troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, CNG systems, and hydraulic equipment. Perform DOT/brake inspections on brake systems, emission systems, steering mechanisms, and wheel bearings. Test drive trucks to diagnose operational issues and verify repair success. Log repairs, complete digital work orders, request parts, and maintain a safe, clean work environment per OSHA standards. Participate in paid training classes and skill development programs. Requires 3+ years of heavy-duty commercial diesel/CNG experience, Brake Safety Certificate, and 609 A/C System Certification. Shift schedule is 4pm-4am.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of heavy-duty commercial diesel and/or CNG maintenance experience
- Brake Safety Certificate
- 609 A/C System Certification
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and related state/federal safety regulations
- Must pass a Maintenance Exam during the interview process
- Valid Driver's License
- Must own a personal set of foundational mechanic hand tools
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, reach above shoulders, lift up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Continuous visual and mental attention required for technical diagnostics, close/distance vision, color vision, and depth perception
- Ability to safely operate commercial waste trucks, shop tools, and computer workstations
Desired Qualifications
- trash/refuse equipment experience
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- willingness/ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
- ASE Certifications
- experience using electronic diagnostic software
- willingness to learn GFL maintenance systems
- experience using electronic diagnostic software (or willingness to learn GFL maintenance systems)
