Job Summary
Anticipate and manage census and acuity changes to allocate nursing resources effectively. Enforce policies for patient care delivery, ensure proper staffing ratios, and cover call-offs or vacation time. Complete rounds, perform random audits, and verify chart checks, seclusion/restraint logs, MARs, and report sheets are accurate. Assist nursing leaders in orienting and coaching staff, providing mentoring and training as needed. Monitor patient care processes, coordinate physician orders and diagnostic information, and document medical and behavioral health information. Administer medications, assist in developing individualized plans of care, prioritize tasks, and delegate staff to ensure quality care. Lead admissions and discharges, inform physicians of condition changes, and utilize administrator-on-call for additional attention. Provide direct care as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current registered nursing license in State of facility
- 1 year of experience as an RN in any setting
- Current certification or license to practice within the state where the facility is located
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification
Desired Qualifications
- BSN from accredited school of nursing preferred
- Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred
- 1 year in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred
- Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred
- First aid may be required based on state or facility
