Job Summary
Perform routine maintenance on yellow iron, trailers, and diesel semis by changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment. Inspect, test, and listen to defective machinery to diagnose malfunctions, then communicate identified repairs to the shop manager for schedule updates. Use hand tools, precision instruments, and power tools to complete tasks while documenting work, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders with photos. Maintain a high level of productivity and work independently in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety policies. Requires mechanical knowledge of one year (preferred) and ability to lift heavy objects. Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift heavy objects to perform daily tasks
- Work with a high degree of independence
- Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times
- Communicate with co-workers, management and support team
- Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT
- Participate and complete all-in company required safety training
