Job Summary
Responsible for delivering care to residents in a nursing unit, including assessing resident needs and developing individual care plans. Administers nursing care and supervises Certified Nursing Assistants in the delivery of care. Key responsibilities include collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with policies, participating in management meetings, and providing nursing leadership. Requires a current LPN license in Missouri, clinical assessment skills, knowledge of long-term care practices, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to make independent decisions.
Required Qualifications
- A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a LPN in Missouri
- A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrate clinical assessment skills at the level necessary to meet the job requirements
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary care team
- Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Proven decision-making and analytical skills
- Able to relate positively, favorably, and cooperatively with others, including employees, residents, family members, and personnel of outside agencies and organizations
- Positive attitude and desire to work with the aging population
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required
- Current CPR certification
