Job Summary
Repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and chassis on heavy trucks and trailers while performing routine maintenance like oil changes and battery checks. Diagnose malfunctions by inspecting, testing, and listening to defective equipment, then document all findings and parts used on Repair Orders. Adapt quickly to sudden schedule changes and work independently with a high degree of productivity. Use hand tools, precision instruments, and welding equipment to fix a wide variety of equipment including late-model diesel semis and trailers. Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations while completing required safety training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to repair units on site
- Must be able to come up with quick solutions to keep equipment productive
- Must be able to adapt and make changes quickly
- Must be familiar with diesel engines, all makes
- Must be able to lift heavy objects to perform daily tasks
- Must be qualified to perform DOT FMCSA annual inspections
- Must be able to work with a high degree of independence
- Must maintain a high level of productivity
- Must be able to work within or close to most standard repair times
- Must communicate with management and support team
- Must perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT
- Must participate and complete all-in company required safety training

- Hydraulic experience
- Diesel engine repair: 1 year
- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year
