Job Summary
Supervise and participate in all night crew activities, directing operations, training personnel, and maximizing sales and customer satisfaction. Rotate, stock, face products, discard spoiled items, and maintain backroom conditions while cleaning shelves. Assist the Grocery Manager in ordering, receiving, inventory control, and building displays using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and ladders. Verify orders against invoices, audit product cases, complete reports, and implement loss prevention policies to control shrink. Handle vendor relations, enforce safety and security procedures during afterhours, and cover various positions throughout the store. Work nights, weekends, and holidays with varying hours under little supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Friendly and courteous
- Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team
- Ability to work independently without supervision when the store is closed
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Mental alertness
- Knowledge of basic mathematics, inventory control, storage, merchandising and shipping and receiving procedures
- Mental dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
- Ability to cover for various positions throughout the store
- Knowledge and ability to implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment and computer software malfunctions
- Must comply with Company policies including grooming standards and dress code
- Must be able to work with little supervision
- Regular attendance
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to frequently reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 80 lbs.
- Ability to push or pull fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts or pallet jacks
- Ability to climb ladders
- Will be required to work nights, may work weekends and holidays
- Scheduled hours will vary
- Must be able to concentrate and deal with interruptions and customer complaints
