Job Summary
Develop and maintain professional relationships with judges, prosecutors, and defense counsel to facilitate program admissions and advocate for participants during court appearances. Conduct screening interviews, review arrest records and attorney recommendations, and determine legal eligibility for Supervised Release while ensuring admitted participants receive appropriate supervision levels. Administer screening tools, explain release conditions, and manage crises to ensure participant safety and well-being. Accompany defendants to court, provide timely notifications regarding non-compliance, and accurately document case information in the database. Achieve monthly intake targets and collaborate with borough-based staff to maintain continuity in supervision. Work full-time Thursday through Monday from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM in an on-site role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- at least 4 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to function effectively in a high-paced, high-stakes environment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively with diverse participants and staff
- Highly articulate, resourceful, and professional
- Proven ability to function effectively in a high paced and stressful environment
- Interest in, and sensitivity to, issues facing justice-involved individuals
- Ability to quickly gather and evaluate the accuracy of information
- Ability to use good judgement within time constraints and high-volume courtrooms
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Ability to formulate persuasive arguments for eligible defendants to be placed in CASES programs
- Excellent analytical and written skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to work a regular and obscure schedule
