Job Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for accurately balancing hotel income and expenses for a 24-hour operating period and acts as a Guest Service Agent for the overnight front desk. The role requires auditing room, F&B, and telephone revenues and charges, preparing daily management reports, and coordinating with hotel systems (Opera, SynXis) to resolve issues. Responsibilities include assisting with breakfast setup, guest registration, handling cash/credit card transactions, processing reservations and changes, upselling rooms to maximize revenue, ensuring security, and collaborating with other shifts to maintain service standards. Strong English communication, basic math, attention to detail, and familiarity with hotel operations are essential; prior hotel experience and proficiency with Opera systems are preferred. ServSafe and TIPS certifications may be required. The position is on-call with a part-time schedule and includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- One year of previous hotel experience preferred
- Reading and writing skills are utilized when compiling department records, guest registration and reservation information
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, percentages, and variances preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- May be required to obtain ServSafe certification
- May be required to obtain a TIPS certification
- Must work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
