Job Summary
Weigh, wrap, and price meat for customers while delivering helpful, friendly, and prompt service. Maintain NFI sanitation and refrigeration standards, prepare product displays, and execute opening and closing procedures. Drive department sales growth through suggestive selling and demonstrate product knowledge of cooking methods and signature items. Communicate with the department manager regarding ordering and receiving standards, adhere to all safety policies, and model safety practices. This role requires a passion for the product and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Food Handler's Certification is required by state law.
Required Qualifications
- Food Handler's Certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of an organization
- Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages), weights and measures
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
- Ability to work in wet or humid conditions
- Ability to work in extreme cold
- Ability to handle toxic or caustic chemicals
- Ability to communicate with associates and customers
