Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care activities for neonatal patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement comprehensive plans of care while collaborating with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members. Respond independently to emergency situations and advocate for patients and families while promoting optimal health outcomes. Evaluate rapidly changing patient conditions, identify potential risks, and apply evidence-based practice to clinical decisions. Provide individualized patient and family education based on developmental and cultural needs, and support continuous learning among peers. Serve as a clinical resource and role model while participating in unit and hospital improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a state-approved professional nursing program
- Must be eligible to take the Board of Nursing examination, or have passed
- Endorsement in the state of MO
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider certification required, or completion within the probationary period
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds and pinch up to 15 pounds
- Ability to work varying schedules based on patient care needs
