Job Summary
The NICU RN will provide direct patient care in the 36-hour day shift at the Messina Family NICU, a Level III unit, with 3-5 years PICU/NICU/SCN experience required. Responsibilities include medication administration per SSH policies, developing and updating individualized plans of care, initiating admissions assessments, safeguarding patient safety, coordinating discharge/transfer planning by 12:00pm, and maintaining a culture of safety. The role requires adherence to nursing standards, documentation, patient-family-centered care, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC, TCAR (as applicable), and Massachusetts RN licensure, with a focus on continuous professional development and compliance with regulatory policies.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years current PICU/NICU/SCN experience
- RN - Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification
- Possession of valid Massachusetts RN license
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Possesses required certifications as per department (ACLS/BLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC etc)
