Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care activities for neonatal patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a Level IV NICU. Utilize the nursing process to develop comprehensive care plans, perform ongoing assessments, and deliver evidence-based nursing care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. Respond independently to emergency situations, advocate for patients and families, and provide individualized education based on developmental and cultural needs. Evaluate rapidly changing conditions, identify risks, and accurately document patient status and interventions. Serve as a clinical resource and role model, contributing to unit improvement initiatives and team-building efforts. This October residency cohort offers mentorship and professional development for new graduates and experienced RNs transitioning into this specialized, high-acuity environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a state-approved professional nursing program
- Must be eligible to take the Board of Nursing examination
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider certification required, or completion within the probationary period
