NICU October Residency: Mercy STL

Conduct direct patient care activities for neonatal patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a Level IV NICU environment. Perform ongoing assessments, monitor patient conditions, and deliver evidence-based nursing care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. Respond independently to emergency situations and advocate for patients and families to promote optimal health outcomes. Evaluate rapidly changing conditions, identify risks, and accurately document patient status and interventions. Provide individualized education to families based on developmental and cultural needs, and serve as a clinical resource for peers.
