NICU October Residency: Mercy STL

Conduct direct patient care activities for neonatal patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a Level IV NICU environment. Utilize the nursing process to develop comprehensive plans, perform ongoing assessments, and deliver evidence-based nursing care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. Respond independently to emergency situations, advocate for patients, and provide individualized education based on developmental and cultural needs. Evaluate rapidly changing conditions, identify risks, and accurately document patient status and interventions. Serve as a clinical resource and role model, participating in unit improvement initiatives and sharing best practices with colleagues.
