Job Summary
NICU Associate provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the NICU, performs clerical and billing duties for the department, acts as a receptionist for the Nursing Unit, and enters/updates information in hospital computer systems. Responsibilities include nursing assistance, inventory and supply management, housekeeping duties, records management, laboratory assistance, and routine interactions with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Requires high school diploma, healthcare-provider CPR certification, and familiarity with medical terminology; prior nurse assistant or related patient care experience is helpful. The role uses NICU equipment (e.g., radiant warmers, isolettes, cribs, ventilators, phototherapy, monitors) and emphasizes teamwork, dependability, and adaptability to varying shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card (within probationary period)
- Ability to multi-task in a tense setting
