Job Summary
Provide in-person ASL interpretation for Deaf employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in St. Paul, MN; VRI services may be requested to support virtual meetings with external and geographically separated participants. Service requests range from a minimum of two to nine hours during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, excluding 11 federal holidays. Assignments longer than two hours will be staffed with a minimum of two Interpreters. Interpreters will be hired on a part-time, hourly basis. Interpreting assignments include staff meetings, commemorative programs, award ceremonies, safety talks, discussions on work procedures/policies/assignments, quarterly and annual performance discussions, disciplinary discussions, basic staff and classroom training, interviews, and All Hands meetings. Required qualifications include being over 18 and legally authorized to work in the United States, possessing reliable transportation, and National Interpreter Certification (NIC); experience performing ASL interpretation in government settings is highly preferred.
