Job Summary
Lead and supervise the safe, efficient maintenance of the grade control drilling fleet, ensuring equipment availability supports production objectives. Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities to maximize reliability while monitoring fleet health, costs, and key performance indicators. Provide frontline leadership, coaching, and performance management for maintenance personnel and contractors, enforcing compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and contractor management standards. Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and correct hazards, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation within maintenance systems. Collaborate with Drilling, Operations, Supply Chain, and Technical Services teams to optimize schedules and inventory requirements, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years' experience maintaining mobile drilling equipment
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a maintenance supervisory or leading hand role
- Sound understanding of preventive, planned, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate maintenance priorities with operational and production requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of maintenance budgeting principles and cost control practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in Oracle (or equivalent CMMS/ERP)
- Proficient in maintenance management software
- Proficient in dispatch or fleet management systems
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years' experience maintaining mobile drilling equipment, preferably in open pit mining or heavy industrial operations
- Five (5) years' experience maintaining mobile drilling equipment, within a planned maintenance environment
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a maintenance supervisory or leading hand role, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
- Strong commitment to safety leadership, with a proven ability to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience supervising and training maintenance personnel and contractors to safely achieve equipment availability and reliability targets
- Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability while minimizing operational disruption
- Demonstrated experience managing maintenance inventory, including critical spare parts, consumables, and stock levels
- Ability to forecast maintenance material requirements and coordinate procurement of parts and consumables in accordance with maintenance schedules
- Experience monitoring maintenance costs, labor utilization, and material consumption, with the ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to analyze maintenance data and prepare reports on equipment reliability, maintenance performance, KPIs, and equipment availability
- Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with maintenance personnel, operations, supply chain, OEM representatives, and contractors
