Next Prep Coordinator & Apprenticeship Counselor

Job Summary
Coordinate apprenticeship/internship pathways for 11th–12th graders participating in Next Prep, managing a caseload of 8-15 students per grade and serving as the primary caseworker to troubleshoot barriers and ensure matriculation into apprenticeship opportunities. Act as a school liaison and student advocate, coordinate with Next Prep staff, teachers, counselors, administrators, families, and employers, and oversee program logistics, off-campus activities, and student progress. Responsibilities include managing applications/enrollments into apprenticeship programs, providing academic bridging support, coordinating with partner schools and employers, maintaining accurate student records per FERPA, tracking credentials and work-based learning hours, and monitoring engagement on Futre. Requires 3+ years in youth development or related field, strong relationship-building, multitasking, and communication skills, with a focus on helping students access real pathways to economic opportunity.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in youth development, school counseling, workforce development, or a related field
- track record of building trusting relationships with high school students
- strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- clear, direct communication with students, families, school staff, and employer partners
